YOUR PRIVACY IS MY PRIORITY

CONFIDENTIALITY AGREEMENT

All sessions are confidential
I am registered with the Information Commissioner under the Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA 2018)

There are, however some limits to confidentiality:

Clinical notes are stored for seven years.

I regularly present my work in clinical supervision to ensure the highest standards of care for my clients. The purpose of supervision is to monitor and enhance the quality of the clinical work I provide. Rest assured, all supervision is conducted on a strictly confidential basis, and only your first name is used during these discussions.

There may be instances where I need to contact your GP or another medical professional. This would typically be done with your permission and discussed with you in advance. However, in situations where your safety or the safety of others is at serious risk, I may need to contact external services without prior consultation.

While confidentiality is a cornerstone of my practice, there are certain legal exceptions, such as those outlined in the Prevention of Terrorism and Drug Trafficking Acts. Additionally, in a court of law, a counsellor or psychotherapist may be required to provide information about a client.

In the event I am incapacitated, my UKCP-registered professional executor will have access to your records solely to contact you. They are also fully compliant with GDPR 2018 regulations, ensuring your privacy is respected at all times.
